New Image Recovery Center Opens at Tate Cancer Center
North Arundel Hospital, an affiliate of the University of Maryland Health System has announced Opening of the Image Recovery Center at the Tate Cancer Center. The Image Recovery Center opened its doors on May 19 for cancer patients in Anne Arundel County. The center is designed to help cancer patients deal with the many side effects of cancer treatment including its influence on appearance and self-image. Offering services in a “spa-like” setting, the Image Recovery Center addresses temporary and long-term concerns. Each patient is provided with an appearance care plan that coordinates treatment with nursing care plans. Patients will have access to skin care analysis and regimentation, cosmetic camouflage and corrective make-up, hair replacement and headwear, breast care support, prosthesis, mastectomy bras and swimwear, as well as lymphedema products and support. The center will also offer nutritional support, therapeutic facials, massage and reflexology, educational resources, and post-treatment clothing recommendations. The center is located on the second floor of the Tate Cancer Center and is part of the multi-disciplinary approach to care offered at the Tate Cancer Center.
